Please join us in welcoming our friends Doug Jacknick and Tom Perry to Talbott & Arding. Doug represents Columbia Cheese and Jumi Cheese, leading importers and affineurs of cheeses from Switzerland and beyond. Tom is the Cheese Sales Manager for Shelburne Farms, Vermont's famed cheddar producer, as well as the 2015 recipient of the Daphne Zepos Teaching Endowment grant.
We'll kick off the evening with a full-on raclette feast: Doug will be melting Jumi Raclette cheese to pair with charcuterie, bread, potatoes, and all the accoutrements. You'd better believe we'll be pouring fantastic wine pairings from our friends Grapefruit Wines.
Then we'll head back to (cheese) school with Tom, as he leads us through a class all about native cheese cultures . Tom’s grant-winning vision was to research cheese making cultures and their use, in order to advocate for the use of native cultures in the USA. We'll taste through (more!) cheeses as we learn what makes their unique climates so special, and how that synergy impacts the end product.
We're looking forward to an energized, fun, interactive night full of good people and great food!
Ticket price includes a generous amount of food, wine, water, and a seat in what promises to be the most delicious "class" you've ever attended.
A portion of all ticket sales will go to the Daphne Zepos Teaching Endowment, to support future grants for the development of research within the cheese field.
