The Role of Coagulants in Cheesemaking
A ticketed virtual event where Trevor Warmedal, recipient of the 2022 Daphne Zepos Teaching Award, presents his research. Trevor spent the bulk of 2022 researching the role coagulants play in cheesemaking. He will be sharing stories from his travels visiting traditional rennet extraction in the cheesemaking communities of Sardinia, the Canary Islands, and throughout northern Spain.

Our annual party during the American Cheese Society Conference will partner with the Cheese Culture Coalition for double the good vibes.
On Wednesday, July 19th at 9pm CST, join us at Buzzard Billy's (just steps away from the conference center and hotels) for bevvies, raclette and good association. $20 admission gets you in the door, unlimited raclette grilled with delicious accoutrements, and a good time with your cheesey friends. This event is open to the public as well so come on by!

Raclette Party & Cheese Class!
Join us at Talbott & Arding’s Allen Street location!
Kick off the evening with a full-on raclette feast: Doug will be melting Jumi Raclette cheese to pair with charcuterie, bread, potatoes, and all the accoutrements. Then head back to (cheese) school with Tom, as he leads us through a class all about native cheese cultures.
Womens Work: The History and Legacy of Women in Dairy
A ticketed virtual event where Mary Casella, recipient of the 2021 Daphne Zepos Research Award, presents her research of the history and role that women play in the dairy and cheese world.
DZTE 10th Anniversary
On July 20, 2022 in Portland, OR we will celebrate our ten-year anniversary and our 10th award recipient.
Even if you are not in the cheese industry, this will be an event not to miss! Hosted at Upright Brewing, we will have an assortment of local beers, wines, kombucha and non-alcholic beverages available as well as flowing raclette from Jumi Cheese.
Ticket purchases include admission and unlimited raclette. Additional donations are accepted to help fund our scholarships in perpetuity.
Growing Great Cheese: How Feed Influences Flavor
Join 2020 Daphne Zepos Teaching Award recipient Matt Benham for a presentation on agricultural practices used in France, Spain, and Italy and learn how they impact the flavor of milk. At this live, virtual event you will be able to ask questions directly and engage in a conversation about the future of "harvesting" flavor and terroir from the land our animals graze.
